Jack and Kate share a heated encounter, but didn't know he was her dad's old friend, come to rebound from his divorce with the minister's family. They are a mature couple, in that they don't waste time with games or tantrums, handling the age gap like an obstacle but not the end of the world. A bit quieter than many Madison tales, but good.
I thought it was a really hawt, steamy, short taboo romance. The older hero, starting over from a a divorce, approached by a young female at a club and have this connection he wants again. But where did she go?
It was short but I enjoyed the pacing, characters, story line and chemistry. However, the ending was kinda lacking. He was older and his first wife never wanted to have kids. Would have loved to know they had kids or not. Safe read. No cheating. Hero was heroine's one and only. Read it on my Unlimited and would recommend.
Not wanting to go to college a virgin, Kate dresses up and puts on some heavy handed make-up to look a bit older for her mission. She drives 40 miles out of town so that the chances of being recognized are slim to none and settles on a dive bar with a bartender resembling Gandalf.
She’s just about to give up on her plan to get deflowered by a stranger, when Jack walks in. Jack is an older guy. He’s tall, muscular, handsome, a bit scruffy and he has dark, intense eyes. She decides that he’s the best candidate to take her virginity.
Kate surprises him behind the bar while he’s out for a smoke and takes matters into her own hands. A few moments later, she’s no longer a virgin, has been kissed like never before and she casually gets dressed and heads home with a quick word of thanks tossed to the very confused Jack.
After she’s showered off the evidence of her eventful evening, she answers the door to greet one of her dad’s wayward friends who will be staying with them while he licks his wounds from a messy divorce and gets back on his feet. She is shocked to open the door to see Jack standing on the other side.
This didn’t exactly follow her plan of getting rid of her v-card with someone she’d never see again. Now he’d be sleeping in the guest room, while she dreamed of him down the hall. In the meantime, Jack is flipping out because he just slept with his friend’s barely legal daughter. His minister friend. Yup, he just took the minister’s daughter in an alley outside of a dive bar.
They feign ignorance the first night, but the next morning they can’t keep their hands to themselves. Kate and Jack are extremely attracted to each other and are both under a bit of an insta-love spell. When Kate tells Jack that she’s off to college the next day, will that be the last she ever sees of him? If they manage to work things out between the two of them and make a long distance relationship work, how will her parents react to the news of their young daughter being with a much, much older man? Will they be together for just a day or forever?
Steamy, insta-love story with an older man and his friend’s much younger daughter. Sweet, sexy and short standalone. HEA.
I don't love this story, don't hate it either. Started out great, two strangers hooking up and thought would never see each other again. After they see each other again, it didn't feel like the age difference was an issue. Just two people who felt an instant connection.
Don't know what to say. Awesome book
Fun short hot read. Totes good for a quick pick me up if that's what you are needing or if you just want a hot short read.
